Games

Welcome to my game shelf! Here's a few games that I've played and recommend! Hover over the box art to visit links related to where to get the game!

Celeste

My favorite video game of all time. Celeste has impacted me in more ways than I can even count. I've spent so much time playing this game (my steam hours are inaccurate), both within the base game and in the incredibly high-quality mods that the community has created for this game (currently working through the Strawberry Jam). I plan on making a shrine for this game because I have so much love for it and not enough space to write about it here.

A Dance of Fire and Ice

I love love love love this rhythm game so much like omg this is genuinely the best rhythm game ever created it's so good like all you need is a single button and then you're able to play this game so it's not only perfect on pc but on steam deck (trackpads!) and mobile too it's such a good rhythm game and not only that but the custom levels are amazing too go play this game plz (shrine incoming)

Terraria

If you want the best gaming experience of your life, go play Terraria. For the price of just $10, Terraria's the most bang for your buck you'll ever get. I could replay this game til the end of time, there's just so much to it. And this experience is even better when it comes to multiplayer! If you've never played it, do yourself a favor and check it out, it's worth it.

Hypnospace Outlaw

If you enjoy exploring neocities websites like mine and love hopping from website to website and seeing all the creativity on display, you'll really enjoy Hypnospace Outlaw. It expertly captures the look and feeling of exploring the old internet, wrapped up in a really interesting and intriguing narrative about creativity, personal expression, and corporate greed. This game is one of the primary inspirations for this website!

Pseudoregalia

I think that this is my favorite 3d platformer of all time, no joke. Despite looking, feeling, and playing like a Nintendo 64 game, Pseudoregalia is a masterclass in how to create a metroidvania with platforming that feels incredibly fun & tight and upgrades that change and and add to your platforming abilities in incredibly substantial ways. My only gripe is that I wish it was longer, but that's barely an issue with this 10/10 game.

Inscryption

Deckbuilding roguelikes have had an incredibly strong presence in the indie game space ever since Slay the Spire released in 2019, and I think that one of the best games to come out of that genre is Inscryption. There's not much I can say about this game without spoilers, but I will say that it's not only a really good horrorlike game, but is also backed up with incredibly satisfying roguelike gameplay. Daniel Mullins, you've done it again!

Yume Nikki

Yume Nikki is honestly one of the most impactful games on this list. If you've played Undertale, Oneshot, Omori or anything like them, chances are it was influenced by Yume Nikki. There's not much gameplay aspects other than walking around and exploring dream environments that weave in and out of each other. The appeal here is in the vibes and atmosphere. You can even play it online now in your browser, at the Yume Nikki Online Project.

Casette Beasts

One of the most innovative games in the monster-catching genre. There's so much to this game that sets it apart from Pokemon, from the way type matchups interact to how moves charge up differently. I don't even know where to start with this game, it's so good! I love the music, the monster design, the battle and catching mechanics, the fusion mechanic, puzzles, exploration, and secrets to be found here. 10/10 from me.

Void Stranger

I don't wanna talk about this game much because it's one of those games that really benefit from going in blind. If you want to know a little about it though, it's a sokoban style game that looks like it wouldn't feel out of place on a gameboy color. And yet, it's one of the most intriguing puzzle games I've ever played. If you end up playing this game, prepare for it to completely take over your life for the next few weeks.

Afterplace

This game is truly a hidden gem. I know that gets said a lot but I think that Afterplace is one of the most unknown game on this list, which is a crime. When I played this game on my phone (yep it was originally designed for mobile), I was blown away at how much there was to this game, and the amount of charm and love that oozed out of every part of its expansive world. If you can only check out one of the games on this list, this one should be it.
